Dianne Lam

My mixed media paintings focus on the tension between the constructed world, with its patterns of geometric and rectlinear forms, and the organic, irregular world of nature and consciousness. Although my paintings start out as abstract, occasionally as they develop they hover on the verge of figurative representation.

I hope all my work conveys a sense of the passage of time, and displays an intimately felt awareness of texture, pattern, layers and space.
